Remapping Erased Landscapes
Feb 15 2025 to May 28, 2025, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery, Wagga Wagga, NSW
Remapping Erased Landscapes is a commissioned exhibition featuring all-new works by Sydney-based artist Mei Zhao.
Mei Zhao’s work explores the history of early Chinese migration in this region. Informed by multiple field trips and residencies researching Chinese market gardens in this region, including Wagga Wagga, Narrandera, Adelong and Tumut. Using painting, drawing, textiles and site installation, the artist re-imagines the presence of thousands of Chinese people who have been lost to history.
This exhibition is supported by Create NSW.
